About Us

The Nutrition and Lifestyle Risk Surveillance System (NULRISC) is an innovative initiative led by the ICMR-National Institute of Nutrition to combat the rising tide of overweight and obesity across different life stages through a life course approach. It offers a digital, validated platform for real-time monitoring of nutrition and lifestyle risk factors at both institutional and individual levels. Our mHealth-based surveillance system empowers students, parents, teachers, clinicians and program managers(RBSK,RKSK etc) with personalized insights into dietary and physical activity patterns using AI, ML, and IoT tools. Designed to be user-friendly, scalable, and sustainable, NULRISC bridges gaps in existing health programs like RKSK and RBSK, enabling informed action against obesogenic behaviors and environments.
